After reviewing the early AM posts on this topic, I tend to agree. But it is entirely possible that, since the American people do not know that China does not have a military capability for an ocean invasion, ...it is very possible for China to engage in political brinksmanship over the Taiwan issue, which the financial markets will interpret very negatively.

The US should try to broker a private agreement between the new administration in Taiwan and the Chinese, if such a thing is possible.
