The market "DOW" may have fell 22% (I thought it was more, maybe that was one day) but other stocks I believe were wiped out forever.

22% is incorrect. The market went from 381 to about 40 something. That is 90%..Tokyo in the 80's dropped 90% as well.

It can get much worse.

Dawgie,
one of the reasons the Fed can get away with this is because we have been programmed to accept the behavior. It just doesn't shock anybody any more. the entire system is geared towards emotions. the more you can stretch the emotion the more you can get away with. nothing surprises me. nothing.
