That's an interesting hedge strategy. However, the bbh looks pretty sick. (I know you are betting on genome news, however, in this market it may be greeted as enthusiastically as csco's earnings....)

I would have to agree with what some others have mentioned. The advances in genetics have been amazing and exciting, but unfortunately so little is known about exactly how these discoveries will be implemented to make a difference with various medical problems.

Some of the recent "news" releases, are actually not "news" to many in the genetics field. Some of these discoveries were known weeks or months ago...and if your are seriously investing in genetic related stocks, you should follow some of the medical genetic conferences.

If you live in the Bay Area, you should also think about attending the meeting of the Governor's Select Advisory Committee on Human Cloning for the State of California. The next meeting is on Monday, May 15th in S.F. (The meeting site alternates between Northern and Southern CA.) Some of the brightest and most well known individuals in the field of medical genetics are either on this committee, or give various reports to this committee. If you are interested, I'll find the exact location, and agenda for this next meeting. These meetings are open to the public.
