<If they had jumped on the problem in Q1 when problems surfaced the loss from the problem would have been much less.> From this post, it will become readily apparent that I don't know much about chip fabrication, but I think that intel did start to correct the MTH problems. Someone, probably Scumbria posted, that the heart of the problem was sort of a "leak", and that it would not be fully corrected until another layer had been added. This required the dram to be carefully crafted within very strict tolerance to avoid the problem. Intel's statements at the time reflect this. Now, with the next run, Intc has corrected the problem and the tolerance is wider. NOW, that the problem is FIXED, the recall may begin. Compare and contrast the divisor (?) problem, which was more of a public relations problem than anything. Here, Intel has moved decisively and IN ADVANCE. Errata happens, kash. I like a company that fixes it without my having to ask, shows class and concern for the consumer. [Now you guys that REALLY know what I am trying to post, go easy on me, will ya :)) Duke
