Verizon Wireless Expands Digital Service to Eugene/Springfield and Albany/Corvallis
BUSINESS WIRE - May 10, 2000 12:32
EUGENE, Ore., May 10, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless
company in the nation, has expanded its digital service to Eugene/Springfield and Albany/Corvallis.

Customers now can enjoy continuous digital coverage along the I-5 corridor from Cottage Grove to
the Canadian border.

"Digital is the best technology available for wireless users," said Eric Papcun, branch director for
Verizon Wireless in Oregon. "Now customers who live in or travel to Eugene/Springfield and
Albany/Corvallis have access to digital features including enhanced call quality, longer battery life,
text messaging and superior call privacy all backed by the Verizon Wireless commitment to superior
24-hour customer service."

A variety of simplified digital calling plans are now available to Eugene/Springfield and
Albany/Corvallis digital users, including Verizon Wireless's new Single Rate Plans that eliminate
domestic long distance and roaming charges. The new flat-rate, simplified price plans provide one of
the best values in the industry for a national wireless flat-rate plan ranging from $35 per month for
150 minutes up to $150 per month for 1500 minutes.

In order to enjoy the benefits of the new digital service from Verizon Wireless, customers can choose
from the new tri-mode phones available from Audiovox and Motorola or the dual-mode
CDMA/analog phones available from Qualcomm, Audiovox and Samsung. Customers can find these
phones and sign up for VerizonWireless calling plans at any participating authorized dealer or by
calling 888/466-4646.
