After mulling this deal over some more, I feel that it is only fitting that Qlgc buys Ancr after what they put us through.

Consider this timeline -

6/99 - Ancr signs Sun
9/99 - Sun signs Qlgc for PCI FC HBAs

Ancor & Sun (and presumably Qlgc) work together over some technical issues with the Qlgc adapters (according to Ashok).
Ancr gets creamed over the resulting 4Q speed bump.

Now Sun is happy Ancr solved the problems. Qlgc appreciates Ancr enough to buy them.

6/00 - Sun storage sales start exploding
9/00 - Qlgc closes Ancor acquisition

What a difference a year makes. The reluctance of H.K.and Ken to relate any background "color" to the deal during the conference call is understandable in this light, but the outcome outshines this deal's embarrassing beginnings.
