GM, t2, I guess my fear that the CSCO numbers would not be good enough to calm down the techs today came true. I'm not sure what to think of the AMAT numbers today. I know everyone was expecting much better but I'm thinking we could be beaten up so much that AMAT will not affect much outside of the semis very much. Maybe it's just wishful thinking and tomorrow will be just like today.

What a dismal day and and a dismal past 45 days or so. On days like this it seems like it will never end.

I've been taking defensive measure the past few days getting off of margin, something I should have done last week, but hindsight is always 20/20.

This market looks ugly and I don't see any relief in sight. I've always felt that the market does things to extremes and cannot move in moderation. We over did the upside early this year and now we are overdoing the downside.

I just hope Greenspan knows what he's doing...this market has been devastating to many many people and the lasting effects will not show up in the econ numbers for at least a few more months. By then Greenspan may have done so much damage that a token rate cut down the road will be too little too late.
