Re: PKTR.

A director just filed a 144 form to sell shares. I realize there are many different reasons for doing so but at this level it makes one wonder why if they have confidence in the future of the company. Of course, I do not know what price he originally got his shares at, but still.......

Too early to buy techs in my opinion. Especially 2nd and 3rd tier techs like PKTR. The bellweathers will be the first to come back in a rally of some sort.

My opinion only.

Jane:-)

OT - I'm pretty sure I was the first to mention NITE here, but I would be cautious short term. Volume on the NAZ has been weak lately which will impact NITE's next Q of earnings. Watch out for negative spin. NITE could trade between 20-40 until fall. I don't know why but NITE gets NO respect. Most seem to group it together with the on-line brokers (which is wrong). I think by Jan 2001 though NITE should be 50-60+ again. Either way it's a cash cow with a good growth rate relative to it's PE.

"Q" your contrite cattiness is so amusing...

re: << I don't believe it! After looking at all of Slider's tech picks the only one I could justify buying was PKTR.>>

<<stocks like NTAP RFMD FDRY JNPR WIND *WILL* offer re-entries at reasonable prices given their future growth that may not be seen again... semi's like VTSS are great trading opps here into a Naz 3000-3250 bottom.>>

Keywords - *WILL* offer re-entries at NAZ 3000-3250; we aren't there yet... and if you dispute the niche leadership of ANY of those stocks - you're simply clueless...

Only thing I bought long today to any degree was VTSS - as we still are NOT quite yet at NAZ 300-3250. I am still only in a 40% position in VTSS offset with a PMCS short; but I did buy FTHL & VYTL strong and will load on all further weakness - did dabble into a little PKTR as well - I enjoy trading it; it's a small cap LT basket play. VTSS has been my best trader along with CMGI here of late. I'll own VTSS all day long sub $50 - and may get a cost basis in the low-mid $40's here - it's going right back to $70 as soon as all this noise is gone. I'm still short a few - but, allways close shorts by days end and I'm not even fully invested from cash yet and have all future margin to still use here...

Your contriteness is such classic "Q"...So, tell me about PKTR "Q".... why do you like it ? What are the major 2-3 drivers going forward ? What do they do, software, hardware ? Quick - go get something to cut & paste ...ROFLMAO ~

You forget; I remember you as John Q Public aka "Johnny come lately" - "Q" the guy who got sold out by his broker at least once while riding the Margin Bravado Train, who laughed at EVER at $14 because of their terrible numbers etc. and dissed UPR at $9 originally - while touting the advantages of TMR (VBG), before ultimately climbing on the bandwagon after the smoke had cleared... "Q" - do what you allways do best, wait untill the smoke clears, then emerge "fully leveraged" and claim the winners... :)

Ciao~

I've got shorts to close...

JQP: Averaging down into tier 1 techs after another
10% down would, IMO, be great diversification for O&G investors, and LT if not also ST and MT would set you up to far exceed E&P performance. Slider does good research, because he ends up picking stocks that I like, :-) and I spend most of my time in tech. I suggest NTAP RFMD FDRY JNPR WIND VTSS (his picks) are all far better and safer bets than PKTR, singled out as his good pick. NTAP in particular is likely to be dominant. To those I could add many others: QCOM, JDSU, SNDK, LSI, ELON at levels not far below this.
