I have a little problem with your fund/brokerage theory.
You are in the majority<gggg>
I think they are not mutually exclusive. As a matter of fact, most of funds are brokerages themselves, are they not?
They used to be about 15 years ago when you had 40 to choose from, but about 60-70% are insurance companies or independants

And as much as I hate to say this, I think a lot of analysts give recommendations based on their own fund/brokerage position. Even if this is unethical, it is not illegal

And,....they have declared excess cash positions. Surprisingly even funds that were "never" in cash are reporting in excess of 18% cash. Others...BPI for instance was bragging 90% in one of their funds...since that time IRA/401K/RRSP money has piled up. The FED reported 950million was put into funds during the first 4 days of May??? Where did it go??not the market....not "YET' anyway<ggg>
Nas bounced 7 points higher than 3360...damn sliderule.......just try to replace it.....gotta go to an antigue store....the little crosshairs are all washed off mine......is that a nine.....er-no its a raisin<ggg>
