Email from AMD IR.......Nothing new but here it is any way

*******************************
AMD plans to begin volume shipments of the new AMD Athlon(tm)
processor with performance-enhancing cache memory in June. This is planned
to coincide with VIA Technology's planned introduction of the KZ133 chipset.

AMD has agreed to support our customers' request to produce the new
AMD Athlon(tm) (Thunderbird) processor in Slot A modules. Customers choosing
to use the new AMD Athlon processor Slot A modules must use motherboards
based on the AMD-750(tm) chipset. (Not included, but for your usage: The
majority of our major OEMs, including Compaq, Gateway, IBM, etc. all use the
AMD-750 chipset --- so this issue will not affect them).

Lets hope for good AMAT earnings in couple of hours. I know, why should it matter, CSCO didn't help. But considering that AMAT is the semi equipment maker it can really help the SOX. Considering I only own AMD and COHU, I got my finger crossed. I think there is a chance that the numbers can be spectacular.

Mani,

Maybe we should hope for blowout numbers for AMAT so that we don't go down further....who knows where we would be at if CSCO hadn't done as well as it did.
