Hi John- Thanks for the exact figures. I wasn't trying to say the DJIA went down just in 1929. I meant the lows for the move were 90% off the highs, and it was pretty much straight down for 2 1/2 years.

As for the Nikkei, I'm sure you're right. I was just going from memory, but that's still a 70% loss of valuation from the highs.

The point is, it can get a LOT uglier from here- if it wants to.
