I am a former long who wanted back in and I also have to question not only this deal, but the reaction to it. I really felt that we were building a good base at the 30 area so that we could have an orderly, slow breakout on rising volume. This unfortunately smells like momentum players who will be gone in a week. I hope that I am wrong because I know a lot of good people who have been hurt bad by this damn stock.

The deal is no different then Intel investing in RMBS, or MU for the matter, it happens all the time.

shamsaee,

Another aspect of this ENEL-related dilution that is positive: it helps ELON transition from being a "retail puke stock" (as I have seen it characterized) to being one institutions can get into. The reason institutional interest has been slow to build is that the float is too low. Let's check the 13Fs again in another three months. I'll bet the upward trend in institutional ownership will continue.

Chances are there are some restrictions on ENEL's ability to sell its shares. I will be looking for the filings.

Cheers, Tuck
