I'll ask a simple question...is it part of the core inflation number?
If it is - I agree with you that it's structural. If not, then my point holds. I know it isn't.

They aren't rising, btw....they have fallen from their highs. They may have risen slightly from the fall, but indications show that the OPEC nations are now jockeying for market share. That will usually keep prices in check.

I pointed out that energy costs do effect everything, but that doesn't mean that it's structural.

It isn't bullpuckey...it's the way the numbers are configured. If you want to call the BLS or the Commerce Dept. and ask them to change their figures...be my guest.
