Don:

My play is in COMPONENTS rather than SYSTEMS. All the systems people have to buy components, and their are fewer key component makers than systems houses. Seems to me components have much higher barriers to competition...both in time and technology. Systems houses have to establish competitive barriers through standards and size, while components houses get it through laws of physics. So IP in components tends to be better than IP at the systems level, cause standards tend to change faster than laws of physics. As far as that goes, it is all funneling down to fiber, is it not? JDSU, SDLI are my big plays, with strong preference for SDLI. Some VTSS, just enough to watch. Thinking about GLW, LU cause of the component connection.
