I have a a concern and a question.

My concern is with all of the fiber optics players expanding capacity at huge rates in order to stake out their pieces of the market, in a year or two mightn't we end up with worldwide overcapacity and severely reduced margins? I seem to recall this has occurred several times in the semiconductor industry .. shortages to gluts to shortages.

My question is who supplies the specialized machinery, test equipment and raw materials that these new plants need?

Who are the Teradynes and HP's and Watkins-Johnsons and Applied Materials of the optical revolution? Anyone in the industry able to suggest some of next tier suppliers that might be interesting investments?

TIA,

Mike

It's not just you.

Probably kind of goes to your head to be the most powerful person in the world: Fed chairman. Makes you kind of want to push that power around. Bring the world to its heels. Save it from disasters, then force it to its knees.

Okay thats a bit overdone, but I think there's some truth in it.
