Nixon accurately pointed out that the public memory is short. The majority in the market likely lean towards Dubya anyway. From a political perspective, if the country is not in recession, if wages are rising, if Social Security is an issue that goes the Dems way, and the market rallies in October, Gore's chances don't look as bad as it appears today.

I could care less about that Tweedledum & Tweedledee race. Congress controls the purse.
