Uncle Frank and others: Your comment, "As far as I've been able to figure out, most of their ip relates to form factor. Have you found something more potent?"

SNDK recent patents often deal with form factor, but the older, key patents deal with things like avoiding damaged sectors, finding unused sectors for writing data, error correction, reliability, etc., etc. As argued previously, the comprehensive patent portfolio held by SNDK is one reason why companies like Toshiba and Samsung, both licensees, are willing to play ball with SNDK. Just as QCOM is the premier company in wireless, due to its 2000 or so patents, so is SNDK, with a portfolio somewhere near 200, seen as the major player in flash memory.
