Gene, I don't think any of Intel's boards had the 2+2 solution you described (2 DIMM + 2 RIMM). Some third-party manufacturers may have 2+2 boards, but they'd have to stage a recall on their own. As of yet, none of them have announced any.

As for replacing DIMMs with RIMMs, I'd imagine it's a lot tougher than it seems. I think it'd be easier for Intel just to swap the defective MTH components.
