First of all, thanks for the article. It provided insight into recent gene count debate.

Secondly, you are right. INCY has been wanting all along to help the HGP. When I first read the article on the conspiracy, I thought Incyte was trying to stay independent and were like a dark horse in the race. Now that I reread it, i see that they are selling their services to anyone who needs them, and are not to be considered as a competitor at all. They are more of a DoublTwist or GNSL than a Celera.

But I am interested to learn more about gene count. I will research that this weekend. If INCY is right, then the latest news on Chromosome 21 is a fraud.

Nig- Good question. Sold out what? CRA and PEB are constantly doing deals to cooperate with other businesses, sometimes to cement their solid position and other times to stave off a business threat. So INCY is allowed to do the same, as far as I'm concerned.
