WEllll-- I dunno X-- I suppose when someone is whupped up on a lot, they might start viewing you as fierce.
Truculent is from the Latin root trux-- which means savage, grim, fierce. There are a bunch of words that are probably related-like trucido- a verb meaning to slaughter-
which you often do to your opponents.
I think you should take it as a compliment.
