NTG Joins Citrix iBusiness Service Provider Program
Standardizes on Citrix Application Server Software for Application Hosting Services
BATON ROUGE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2000--Network Technology Group, Inc. (NTG), today announced it has joined the Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS - news) iBusiness Application Service Provider (ASP) program and will standardize on Citrix© MetaFrame(TM) application server software as the enabling platform for its application hosting services. As a member of the Citrix iBusiness Application Service Provider program, NTG will receive joint marketing and sales support, 7x24 technical support, enhanced training, as well as ``pay-as-you go'' terms of Citrix's groundbreaking iLicense program. NTG is also entitled to use the Citrix iBusiness brand.

For a fixed monthly fee, NTG offers application hosting and computing services, in addition to overall IT infrastructure management. NTG's internet- and server-based programs include a wide variety of services from the network servers to the desktop. Overall IT costs are reduced under NTG's ASP model when compared to programs which require companies to purchase and maintain internal IT services. NTG's offerings will be operated from its reliable and highly secure advanced data center, which is nearing completion.

``NTG is excited to be one of the first established companies in the South East United States to participate in the dynamic ASP marketplace with a company like Citrix, which is a pioneer and leader in the ASP industry,'' said Scott Thompson, chief technology officer, NTG. ``This opportunity will enable NTG's customers to truly utilize the benefits and flexibility that internet-based applications were initially designed for, such as remote access, security, and premier customer support.''

``We are pleased to welcome NTG to our growing iBusiness program,'' said Chris Phoenix, vice president and general manager, Citrix iBusiness. ``Citrix's ASP program is designed to simplify and expand user access to applications by enabling the software hosting model with Citrix technology and best practices. Working together, we will help NTG's customers received fast, reliable, cost-effective access to a range of business applications.''

Scalibility.....

This terms is a measure on how easily and cost efficiently the system can expand to handle additional load.

The closest equivalent to this in a business setting would be inventory turns. Say you have two businesses with the same product. One with an inventory turn factor of 4 while another had an inventory turn factor of 10. Which is the better business? Clearly, it is the one with a factor of 10 since it can more efficiently handle demand.

Another analogy could be a conference center. Imagine one conference center that has fixed walls and another with the same layout and size that has a host of sliding walls. Both can host a conference. However, the latter center provides better scalibility for individual sessions since rooms can more easily be reconfigured to handle expected demand.

Unfortunately, these are the best examples I can think of off the top of my head. If they are sufficient, please let me know and I will try to come up with better ones.
