WL #3 Fiscal 2000 Recurring EPS Rises 104% to $1.39 On a 50% Gain in Revenues to $156.9 Million
New Chronic Disease Categories Spur Expansion
WOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2000-- WL #3 today reported record revenues of $47.0 million for its fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31, 2000, a 54% increase over revenues of $30.6 million for the same period in fiscal 1999. Recurring earnings per share (diluted) doubled to a record $0.44 from $0.22 in the year-earlier period, when there were 3.7 million fewer average shares outstanding. This is the 13th quarter of profitable growth over comparable periods.

In fiscal 2000, revenues rose 50% to a record $156.9 million from $104.8 million in fiscal 1999. Recurring net income increased 147% to $16.5 million from $6.7 million, a year earlier. Recurring net income per share (diluted) more than doubled to $1.39 in fiscal 2000 from $0.68 (diluted) in fiscal 1999. These comparisons exclude an extraordinary loss on retirement of debt in fiscal 2000 and a gain on the sale of the Company's wound care business in fiscal 1999.

Gross margin rose to 58.9% in fiscal 2000 from 52.7% in fiscal 1999. Positive operating cash flow in fiscal 2000 exceeded $10 million, compared to $539,000 in fiscal 1999.
