I'm sorry, but your analysis and "what if" conclusions are so extreme and unrealistic that it makes the analysis hardly worth doing. You're doing "doomsday" calculations here that aren't really very relevant to the real world scenarios.

I would also argue with the figures you quote but that would be non-productive. If we ever encountered a CPU market collapse like the one you postulate, the causes and impacts would be so far-reaching that I hardly believe there would be much quibbling about valuations for any company (beleive me, by then AMD would be in a pickle too).

Now, if you want to argue about Intel's P/E vs. historical ranges and prospects for growth then we can have an interesting dialogue. I think the market understands (and values) the complete Intel picture pretty well. Maybe you don't see it in every sell-side report, but trust me, all the institutional investors that I ever talked to understood such issues and have valued them appropriately. If you think they don't get it, then you ought to trade based on your superior understanding.
