But the concept doesn't help us because there is no way to determine in advance even if a particular company, like qcom, will be one of the lucky ones? Would that be your read also?


Yes, because two things must be predictable. The first is that the product and industry are ripe for such control. The second is that management is up to the task. For the reasons that scheduled tornados have been a rarity in the past, I believe they will be at least as rare in the future. Check out pages 106 and 107 of Tornado for more about that.

P. S. Does anyone really believe Uncle Frank had a prayer of a chance of finding the stuff about scheduled tornados using his highlited sentences as quickly as I did using my page points? :)
