Clinton is a master, isn't he. He knew he couldn't blackmail Alan by withholding appointment so he got that out of the way real early. And what he gets now is a fed chief appalled by supply side tax cut talk (in extremis) one one hand and growing anti free-trade talk(China) on the other. Getting the fiscally responsible mantra from Mr. G is tantamount to election on the presidential level. And the dems have that. And you are right about overshooting the mark and Greenspan will undershoot inflation to prevent a hard landing for his new political allies.
