What's up my man! I guess father's have the right to reject medical care for their children, as well?

Judge J.L. Edmondson seemed particularly worried about Elian's fate in Cuba, twice calling it "a communist, totalitarian state." Edmondson added that it's not uncommon for courts to rule that the rights of a parent can be overridden by the best interests of a child, comparing Elian to children whose parents reject medical care for religious reasons.

Well, remember Cuba is more fidelista than comunista, and Fidel won't be around forever ... it wouldn't take long to get rid of him if those ex-cubanos would stop propping him up with the isolationist policy ... in any case, i see far more chance for improvement in Cuba than i see in that inbred community of ranting fanatics in Miami.
Remember half of all cubanos are black - take a look at how blacks get treated in Miami ... compare it with the way they were treated under the batistianos when they had power on the island.

Anyway, it's a long time before Eli n is twenty ... and he may very well possibly have at that time a child he doesn't want stolen.
