BruceL - re: COVD & PKTR... "touted" ? re: your comments of : << COVD getting hammered: down 3 1/2. PKTR now down 1 3/8 after you guys touted it. This on a NAZ recovery day!I respect your and Slider's E&P picks but I have big doubts about your tech selections. >> Quite frankly; I don't recall YOU posting anything, don't even recognize your screen name here, not that one needs to be a regular to post; or that one has to necessarially "contribute" anything to post... hey, it's a free country. But, where I do draw the line - is for some peanut gallery critic like you. Who the hell are YOU anyway ? BruceL ??? The only reason I am responding to you this way; is who the hell are you to question ANYONE here on ANYTHING ? What have you ever contributed here ? I think "some" of us use the thread for what it should be used for - as a sounding board between fellow traders. A springboard for idea's... I didn't realize I was running a "pick, or tout" service and especially one that had to pass your personal approval ? Is every stock than I, or others mention here supposed to go straight up in an "immediate" parabolic fashion ? Maybe your freedloading ass ought to send me a check for all the E&P "picks" you evidently mooched - as aren't "TOUTS" supposed to get paid ? Hell; if you want to play critic - you sure as hell ought to at least be paying for the winners - don't you think ? Talk about a freeloading asshole ingrate ? It's peanut gallery ankle biting critic's like you - who can't even get it right; that make this "thread thing" - ohh, so interesting.... I brought COVD up today AFTER the blow off when it was "Allready down $3" - specifically BECAUSE it was down $3 on a TECH RALLY DAY and because the MM didn't post my offer, or match my buy at the ask; that's what made it attractive to me - check the OBV - this is an intra-day chart from God... OBV ramped into the selloff - couldn't ask for any better technicals on a selloff. Watched the tape the last few hours - nice block buying all day long, including a couple of rather large one's. Coming off an excellent earnings report - Strong buys and nice analyst commentary all over the place. I'm in at 20 3/4's - today; had no position going into this morning; had traded it a couple of times between $25 & $30 here lately. Dropped it in going to a larger cash positon here lately - not that I owe you a Freekin explanation... I like the DSL space & don't think I'm alone there. Bruce; I'm pretty sure ole' COVD is going to be a pretty damn nice trade here. Don't think they've got too much to worry about. Bruce - why don't you come back in about a week when COVD is back near $25-30 - okie dokie ? As far as PKTR - I think if you see my original comments on it - it was as a "Basket" of small cap niche plays. This is a small cap - emerging technology company. This is not a core holding -major trader, allthough it has ample liquidity & volatility to trade it rather profitably. I've got a little PHCM INSP GMST SVNX along with a few others as part of an emerging technology basket. GMST is a clear winner imho - PHCM INSP SVNX maybe more speculative - the winners will be huge in wireless apps... And by the way - here's what owning PKTR off of the first NAZ selloff did:Message 13455991 I've got a very small PKTR position here - that's virtually insignificant to my portfolio overall; regardless if it trades at $25, or $15 actually... I may trade PKTR when the opportunity arises, but I "hold" it because I am willing to see it go to "zero, or run to $100 - and ultimately, it will do one or, the other imo - and I don't think it's got much of a chance to see zero; as it's a know buyout at their CEO merely picking up the phone & hitting speed-dial. It came to my attention in an interesting article - months ago by the top 3 performing tech fund managers. Kevin Landis of Firsthand Funds is the top performing Tech Fund Manager over the last 5 years. The article asked these fund managers to pick the next "AOL" (DELL MSFT CSCO - 20 bagger type of pick) - a company that had the potential to be a future superstar... PKTR was Kevin Landis's pick... a hard guy to criticize. After the usual "DD" - I discovered that a Nationwide company that I used to work with that had major "bandwidth management" issue's on its network - solved it with PKTR's product. All the "DOS" - denial of service - hacker attacks you saw earlier on the broker & retail sites - can be prevented by PKTR's products... Every single E-tailer, every single network needs PKTR's product. Say you're a Nationwide Retail company with 1000 stores in all 48 states and at 2 pm every day; all your stores need to transmit daily sales data simultaneously; but yet on that system you operate all the other individual store & branch functions - in addition to an E-tail Web Site... you get bandwidth gridlock - e-tail paying customers are slowed down by the bad timing of trying to access the system at the same time all the stores are transmitting their daily data, or even merely in just trying to access the site at peak times. Also Company networks tend to get bogged down near end of day when all the employee's are checking their e-mail, surfing yahoo, downloading photo's etc... What PKTR does is to prioritize & to manage & route that traffic. It gives the IT people the ability to manage their bandwidth. They literally are a must have product for every E-tailer, or high traffic company in America. Also, hardly a Price to Sales/Revenue multiple that many of the "pretenders" have. Very reasonably priced for its growth here. I've daytraded it a few times for $1, or so intra-day. It was getting bought heavy at the close on down days. I'd buy on a dip in the am on a down, or light open day and be able to flip it for a buck near the close where the volume buying seemed to be coming in on a regular basis. After having went to a high cash position - I hold a small, small amount. I haven't even worried about averaging down on it. I think my buy was bought at $18 5/8ths or so... this is a longterm hold for me, but also can be an attractive trader. I'm curious to see what it does 3-5 years out and due to its small position for me - I'm not worried about where it fluctuates here going into the Fed Meeting. I'm holding PKTR for it to potentially become a split adjusted $100+ stock 3-4 years out. I wasn't in tech during the Fall ramp - so I can enter many of these stocks like PKTR, or COVD here at their original IPO prices in many cases... gee, what was I thinking ? ...if its really bothering you Brucie boy - I guess I could buy today at what ? - $15 7/8ths and have a reduced cost basis of $17 - which was what it opened at... and I'd be willing to bet it probably see's $20 - $22 before you post anything of any social redeeming value here.... ~ $16 PKTR sure as hell isn't causing me to lose any sleep - and it wouldn't if I had another "zero" at the end of the number of shares I own. They've had Product of the Year Awards - just presented at NetOP - have "long" been rumored (more than rumors actually imho) to having had Cisco make overtures to them... Ohh; and as far as having some "doubts" about my tech picks ? Here: FTHL - a double within 12 months from today - up 50% within 6 mos. VYTL - 50% upside from today within 12 mos. COVD - 50% upside from today within 12 mos. All 3 do it - or, I'll send $5K to the charity of your choice... if they do it - you cancel your SI subscription - so we are spared of further armchair critic drivel from you in the future - fair enough ? PS-all 3 are likely to attain those returns within 3-6 mos and jsut for you Bruce; hell - they just might do it within weeks of the Fed Meeting... Oh; and Bruce - be sure to come on back to vist when they do - asshole; okie dokie ? - and in the meantime - get your freeloading ass back to the peanut gallery where it belongs... re: "Tout" ? - I got your "Tout" hanging...(VBG)and by the way - "PKD" is not an "E&P" moron - re: <Tech picks: MRVC & ADEX E& P picks: OXY & PKD>> Ciao~
