We probably see things different.I would have never known about TDMA and GSM had I not been a investor in qcom.Maybe I am wrong but,I do not remember reading TDMA inside when that was the standard technology in the US.

I don't think qcom is concerned about having their name on a phone but rather being a technology pool for the wireless industry.If they wanted to go that route they would have kept their handset division.

I think as an investor in the company,I am better served if the management puts their dollars into becoming a GSM/CDMA/WCMA asics provider and let the service providers advertise their technology and pros and cons.At the end of the day it is the carriers,who have to sell to the customers their service.It is their responsibility to highlight/advertise their superior service features i.e CDMA.
