Jim,

Agreed, I would much rather see a broader range of guest analysts and fund managers...sometimes it seems like appearing on TV is a birthright of some of these guys...the same guys on CNBC are on the guestlist at CNNfn and Bloomberg TV...in fact, I'll see a guy on CNBC and two hours later he/she will show up on the set at CNNfn...given most of these guys' questionable track record and "me too" attitude, it would be nice to see some fresh faces with fresh ideas and angles on the markets.

Case in point, this week's CSCO dealings. I saw Eric Gunderson on CNNfn trying to defend CSCO and he kept saying "this Barrons' piece was shoddy journalism..." but he could not offer up any factual OBJECTIVE rebuttal of what was shoddy about the article...I mean, if you're going to trash the article on TV, I'd think you'd have some solid, OBJECTIVE bullet-points to make, but he couldn't. And CNNfn just let him run with it. Then I saw Liz Ann Sonders (who, by the way, is very easy on the eyes, if you know what I mean) on Bloomberg defending CSCO as well, but the only thing she could say was "You gotta own CSCO because it is a great company." "Because it's a great company" is NOT a reason to buy/own a stock (i.e. MSFT is a great company, but would anyone pay $10,000 per share for it???), yet the Bloomberg anchors just let her run with it instead of pinning her down. So in defense of Ted, it's not just CNBC who doesn't pin these guys down when they spew BS.

I agree about more disclosure...I like it on that Taking Stock thing that Liz C. does, when they put up the guys' track record of what they were touting the last time they were on.
