VRTX is taking the place of CELG as a longer term hold. Longer term can be a number of weeks or just a week. CELG and VRTX have been very good to me. VRTX just 3 days out 4 strong days but that was enough. Its like a free stock now. Message 13668827 Message 13639226 Message 13668774

DELL's earnings can bode well for our tech stocks tomorrow. Seems to have good reception for its earnings. That is why I think it was probably a good idea to hold over our tech stocks. By holding 'fine' stocks like AMCC, QLGC, FLEX, CREE, CMOS we get bigger intraday gains than from junk stocks.

Jenna: <You can't know exactly when to go short or long every time>. Very true. Whenever I buy a stock I EXPECT it will go lower before I (perhaps) get my trade. Same when I go short. Occasionally you can "nail" the entry pretty close to the bottom...or top in the case of a short. Placing a stop to limit a loss in case the trade goes wrong is a bit of an "art." Occasionally you can glean where most traders will place stops...and where hedge-funds or others looking to acquire your stock in size will go "gunning" for these stops...and often get 'em. In these situations I'll risk a bit more and place my stop lower, to avoid this annoying ploy. Oh...Red Sox 11-4 winners over Baltimore last night...Yankees 1-0 losers to Devil Rays. The race tightens up a bit. (Lee)
