Master, it also shows that Elian is only an object to the exile community. A thing to be placed where they want and for their purposes, much like a decoration. They do not view Elian as a sentient being. How ironic that they base their legal arguement on the proposition that he can reason and speak for himself on the issue of asylum. He is a puppet to them, and they want him to dance to their tune.

They do not think past "putting" him in America. It never dawns on them that he might decide, in his 8 year old wisdom, that he would like to live in some other country. Like Canada or Cuba and that, like all good 8 year olds, he might change his mind at any moment. How do they propse to prevent this from happening? It's really a laughable position with so many holes, inconsitencies and hypocricies that one could fill a book as thick as Lazaro's rap sheet with them.

As mentioned before, the Cuban exiles are every bit as bad as Castro. If we do not limit their power they will become (or are) American versions of the bearded one they look down upon.
