Maybe it is because this subject matter is secretive for competitive reasons. After all, that is the reason frequently suggested here for the absence of VLNC derived information on whatever technology and products it possesses. Why would the same rationale not apply to Toshiba? You can't have it both ways and project objectivity.

If VLNC patents hold and if their success in manufacturing the Mn based Li poly batteries is valid, then I do not understand the advantage that Toshiba or any other Japanese company has over VLNC, without the explicit licensing agreements.
If Toshiba is producing Li poly battery based on Co, the safety is a big issue. Sooner or later, the Co-based Toshiba laptop battery might constitute an explosive on an airplane. FAA may like to know. Let us check with FAA to be sure. jmo. Ram
