Some coverage map analysis....

You can learn a lot of geography by studying the G*USA map carefully:

globalstarusa.com

Notice the little bump in coverage off Western Mexico: that's Mexico's Isla Revillagigedo (try saying that fast!)

And the funny shape of the Caribbean coverage is purely political, too: where the Venezuela GW coverage extends north must be Isla Aves (owned by Venezuela) to which you can roam before June 30, supposedly; but if you're going to Aruba or Neth Antilles, less than 100 miles from Venezuela, you have to wait for the PR GW to support roaming in the "second half" of 2000. The Galapagoes and nearby waters are supposed to be available for roaming this quarter as well, but don't wander too far south in the Mediterranean, 'cuz waters near Algeria and Libya are not covered.

Little details like the above provide kind of a warm feeling that G*USA does indeed know where it can/will provide service, though there's one significant inconsistency with G* prime's map: Coverage in Northern Brazil, Bolivia and Ecuador probably will not be available this quarter, contrary to the G*USA map. I also question whether service will really be available in and near Cuba...
