If you've been paying any attention has nothing to do with physical certificates... and nobody here claims that there will necessarily be any measureable effect on the number of shares available on the borrow. Took me a one minute phone call to do the deed. A little experiment in populist capitalism. The idea seems to be catching on, by the way. I would think that the shorts would be grateful that this is all so out in the open, unlike say what happened during the Rambus squeeze. See that this grabbed the attention of a few of your brethen on the Anthony@Shortthehelloutofit thread where you hang out. In all seriousness, given your experience in the tricky world of shorting, challenge you to come up with an analysis of how many shares coming off the borrow more or less simultaneously it would take to start the game of "musical shares". 5 million (probably in the bag) 10 million (a stretch) more...??? (no chance) Keep in mind that the same shares most likely have been shorted numerous times, so there will be a multiplier effect when they are called in. If you can come up with a logical and quantitative argument (this is all about numbers after all) that shows more than 10 million shares need to be called out of the borrow to appreciably increase the stock price, I'll put on the "wanker" cap. If you can't, please short a few thousand more tomorrow (hey, you got an extra 1 1/2 to play with today), so we can see who ends up getting wanked.
