Brian and All: Volume of near 40m shares and they could not push her through $80 ($79 and change). This has been the second or third try in the past three months. When was the last time AMAT did in excess of 40m shares? Anybody remember the August 1999 correction in AMAT due to analyst concerns after earnings? It was August 18th when AMAT hit bottom then on 53m shares. We have not seen a lower price and we have not seen this kind of volume since that date. They were buying AMAT heavily in the after-hours today.
