1) You got that right. :-) 2) Reno and her minions had better brush up on their own immigration procedures as well as judicial jurisdictions. Sounds like a really stupid attempt to backtrack a wrong decision. Juan Miguel has been quoted as saying that he didn't know his ex-wife had taken Elian until after they had left, and that he called to tell his Miami relatives what had happened and to find out if they were OK and to look after them if they arrived. I doubt if he would have asked anyone for Elian's return at that point, since as far as he knew then his ex-wife was still alive, would have equal claim to the child in US courts, and he would have no practical way of getting him back. He could not have anticipated his son becoming a cause celebre. 3) Yes it is. What's unknown is how big a factor it will be.
