Rambi,

I don't think that we should let our personal feelings about someone (you obviously do not like Donato Darymple for some reason) let us influence our opinion of what is right or wrong in this case. So what is there about him that you do not like?
The fact that Elian's mother "almost killed him in the process", just highlights the fact that many Cuban people throughout the years have risked their lives to get away from the oppression in Cuba, just as many used to risk their lives to get away from the oppression in East Germany..... If Elian and his mother had been East Germans trying to get over the Berlin Wall, and the East German guards had shot and killed her just as she managed to get Elian safely over the wall, would you advocate returning her child to his father in East Germany and forget about the mother's efforts to free herself and her son? I sincerely hope not.
I'm glad that you agree with most of my principles, and have a nice weekend. Yogi
