Look Mr Short... 1- SUN is NOT Overvalued, it's one of 4 horsemen of the e-commerce/internet world. The others being cisco, emc & oracle. 2- I saw the Ultra III's, and they are already on some client sites for evaluation. 3- I also saw 75 E10K being assembled, and going to customers. 4- Look at sun's results, +35% profits & sales growth last quarter 5- their backlog INCREASED last quarter 6- IBM, and to a much lesser extent, HP are not as competitive in the ecommerce and TELECOM (Netra's Anyone?) world as SUN is.. IBM is a very, very badly run hardware shop, with a GREAT professional services organisation. It is pretty much # 3 or # 4 in every market segment they compete with. HP is better, it has SLOWED market erosion of it's UNIX boxes, but is NOT accelerating as SUN is.. And if you think the ULTRA III is late, what about Itanium from intel ? These things are becoming so complex to build and deploy, they take longer to develop. If there is ONE thing I would change, make that 2, is that a) Scott must moderate his mouth b) I happen to think that SUN should adopt the Itanium completely OR develop it with HP(PA-RISC) or INTEL (ultra III/IV Itanium Hybrid) or get Broadcom or some other design shop to build the microprocessor for them... Get OUT of MicroProcessor design, and stick to the rest. But SUN did not ask me. Apart from that , SUN is ON a ROLL ! and in IT, the strong get STRONGER End of rant take care Mr Short Jean
