Even though you keep preaching, very few folks will remember those that warned in advance. Well at least you have DMP...<g>...that was really nice of him to acknowledge your work!

I have come across quite a few post by folks on SI that were on cloud nine just a few short weeks ago and now they are hurting big time. That makes me sad...

Please allow me to use this statement to pu forward an irritant I have. It is not a direct attack on this statement, but it tweaked me....
This sort of statement LG proliferates the "I was right and you were wrong mentality" which I deplore. Just because people "guess right" and that is what all this is a "guess" it doesn't give anyone the right to say "see I warned you" to bad you didn't follow my guidance! Because ultimately "who the hell are "we".....I'll tell you who "we" are "guessers". Nothing more nothing less!

If I guess right, that doesn't make you a bonehead for guessing wrong, if you guess right, it doesn't make me a bonehead for guessing wrong. For every individual that is using a "system" that translates into the wrong guess, there are an equal number of people that have a foolproof system that guess right.

We use historical data to try to prdict the future, and at best we are no better than earthquake specialist that insist that California will have the "big one". I believe there will be a big one....its when thats important not if!

I listen to a guy out of New York that has been predicted a crash/correction for 3 years now, when Nas did tank, he was standing up as proud as a peacock that he had "predicted it"!!! Hello????? the bonehead missed 3 years of a bull market!

I find statements like "I feel sorry for those that lost money" patronizing as a minimum, because it insinuates that we, the investors, were somehow forced into making a bad decision. Which of course relieves us of the responsibility for that decision. It also proliferates the fathering of the "I was tricked, I was hoodwinked", I was mislead, which all translates into one thing. I don't want to take responsibility for my mistake, I want a support group to empathize with me, I want people to understand that the bonehead that kept this stock really isn't me, if i had been provided with correct information i would never had held this dog!!!!!!Argh-h-h-h-h-h this p*sses me off!!!!

"I empathize" for people that lose money in the market, because they guessed wrong, but I certainly don't sympathize.

The continued "bitching and moaning by those that lose money in this market or any market" is at best an irritant. Because it proliferates the idea that somehow they got conned. In the rare cases where fraud or a con is involved I do sympathize and express it. But, we all must take "credit" for our stupidity or intelligence when we place our bets in a market. We have become such a society of "whiners" that it is trickling down to our children, because of our inherent need to coddle every aspect of their life. We have (our generation) invented a breed of "counselling" that extends from the obvious to the stupid...all with one idea, to "get over" a bad decision.
Bah-humbug!!!!!!

A-h-h-h-h-h my spleen feels better already!<ggg>
