Re: the DLJ report, Marketwatch had a little bit more info: Analyst Hasan Iman put an "outperformance" rating on the industry. He said he believes the sector faces "an enormous market opportunity, one that is being driven near-term by an unprecedented capacity ramp in the global communications infrastructure. Iman feels that high barriers to entry in the market will allow the early movers to build a sustainable competitive advantage. cbs.marketwatch.com Apparently CIEN is his top pick in the sector.
