<About a year ago I received a call form my SSB broker telling me that the brokerage house was desperately seeking GSTRF shares to short. It actually sounded like they were scrambling to find them because they had over-shorted. They offered me 6%/year on my GSTRF balance (paid monthly) id I would allow them to use my shares to short. They sent me paperwork to transfer the shares to a separate account, and paid the 6%. About 3 months ago, I received a call saying they did not need my shares as badly anymore, and are cutting the rate to 3%. I've never had this happen with any other stock I've owned.>

Amazing Michael. Now I feel gypped! My broker hasn't offered me anything and they will no doubt have used my shares flat out for shorting. Well, maybe I better become a bit more demanding and move my stock to cash soon!! Get offered some serious money for them to borrow them to short them.

Without this discussion, investors would never hear about stuff like this. It doesn't sound as though this is hurting investors. It seems to be helping them. They seem very happy with the whole thing. The only misery-guts is that scurrilous Yields person. Maybe Anthony@short.this.POS too.

Those law enforcement people seem to have the wrong end of the stick and encourage speculation rather than investment. You have just given a VERY good reason to move stocks to a cash account - people should be PAID to lend the stock.

I dare say brokers could and would offer money so people would lend stock to short if they have done it before for you.

Thanks for that information.

Okay, we'll hold you harmless and indemnified and all that stuff; hey, have a double your money back guarantee too. By the way, do you want to buy some of my Graviton Spin Reversal System [TM] shares? Plenty still for sale. Maybe Debbie or that SEC guy would like some? They might prefer the Photon Phragmenter though. What the heck, I'll offer them some IT[TM] and EudoraCoin as well.
