G* vs. Cell Phones. Remember Beta Vs. VHS. VHS, although inferior to Beta, took off and Beta never captured that market. People became comfortable with VHS and it prevailed. Beta market share just shrank and shrank. G* will never get any market share, because cell phones are going to prevail, plain and simple. Who'd want to carry a bulky unit and pay those rediculous fees? Cell phone coverage is more than adequate for all but a very small segment of the population. Those living in remote areas don't necessarily want cell phones and often can't afford them. Can you imagine the Eskimos in the Arctic or the Aboriginals in Australia living in the Outback carrying these phones? I don't think either the peasants in Mexico need them either. Absurd. So, where's the market? Anyone notice this POS is down on a strong market day? This is what we call a Deluxe Short. Thanks for the tip-off Anthony.

Anthony, If cellular, as you say, "will cover everything within 5 years," then why are the SPs even bothering to offer mobile satellite telephony? And more importantly, making this HUGE investment in G? The reason the SPs have formed this consortium is because they understand very well that God's green earth WON'T be completely covered by cellular anytime soon. This is why they've spent well over a billion in G - to extend their coverage and fill in the wide gaps. Anthony, do you really think Vodafone/Airtouch and the other major telecoms would make such a heavy investment in G* if cellular coverage were right around the corner? I urge you to see the light and come to your senses before it's too late. You are obviously a very bright person. Best Regards, Charlie R.
