Quite a number of new things gets looked at. Most don't make it to the factory though since they have to justify the factory space. Factory lines can pretty quickly change from desktop to workstation or network appliance. If something is really different it requires dedicated space and that means good forcasting and inventory. It's so much easier to resell someone elses design (and put in some test time to ensure that the interfaces are robust and compatible with the Dell built products). I think PDAs are mostly used as an enticement on premier accounts. TP
