HP is forced to stop producing Kayak work stations
If you get a chance, review HP's docs. I think, I am not 100% sure, they are using DIMM riser board not MTH soldered on motherboard.
Intel sees a major need for SDRAM based solutions. They are not going to let them go to VIA without a fight. They have 810 and 815 chipsets. It is just not going to let hiend performance lineup be bastardized by SDRAM implimentations.

Taiwan probably could not get reliable RDRAM supplies during the quarter. The supplies were going to DELL and the other big PC makers. Naturally, they would put the 820's out with SDRAM instead.
