>COLUMBIA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 2000--The registration statement for the initial public offering of 4,200,000 shares of the common stock of Sequoia Software Corporation was declared effective at 5:30 p.m. yesterday by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The shares are being offered at a price per share of $8.00. All of the shares are being sold by the company. In addition, the company has granted the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 630,000 shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any. The company's common stock will trade on the Nasdaq National Market under the ticker symbol "SQSW."

The initial public offering is being managed by Lehman Brothers as lead underwriter. The other managing underwriters were SG Cowen, Wit SoundView, and Fidelity Capital Markets, a division of National Financial Services Corporation.
