BGR, there is no need for that you can simply go to the Survey of Current Business put out by the Commerce Dept. to see the impact of hedonic pricing - they give figures for chained and current dollar GDP - its really quite simple. You have been referred to Robert Gordon's study which has been subjected to the peer review which you hold in such high regard. If you took the trouble to read the March issue of Grant's Interest Rate Observer ( thanks to Bill Fleckenstein ) you would have read the Federal Reserve did a study which concurred with Gordon's findings. I think you problem is that you are intellectually lazy and refuse to take the time to examine the evidence. I do feel you have the intelligence to understand this issue if you simply examine the evidence. I could dig up the link for the aforementioned study but I don't suppose you would read it because it does not fit your perception of the world - cognitive dissonance. Me full of hot air ho ho ho i suspect many would agree but someday people will remember the nuts who warned of TOUGH LOVE and ECONOMIC VIOLENCE! HO HO HO Mike

BGR, see Paul Bauer, Economic Commentary, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Oct. 15 , 1999 . I am sure that a scholar of your caliber can find it but if you have difficulty ask the reference librarian to help you. HO HO HO mike

BGR,

>>Show me one study which applied hedonic pricing to EU's growth and came out with a revised, improved growth measurement.<<

The report you are asking for might not exist. However, since we know how it works on US GDP, it's not too difficult
to realize that it would raise the EU GDP growth rate by some amount. We are clearly comparing apples to oranges when we look at US stats compared to the rest of world regardless of which side of the "accuracy" debate you fall into.
