>>We could go and buy the stocks you listed, think
long term and sure you would get a nice gain, but are you really going to get a 100% this year of next,
are you going to get 10 banger out of them anytime soon? I think not. On that list there is only two that
have the potential in the 12 months or so to double, JDSU and QCOM. IMHO I believe one's time is
best spent reading and searching for those stocks that fit into what I outlined in the first paragraph as
the best quality to look for in a stock, instead of clinking to the past.

That's a very good point, Greg.

However the risk in owning those stocks lies in the very fact that they aren't "well understood" by the masses so the danger is in arriving too early. At the same time I believe those stocks are extremely volatile due to the illiquidity in the early stages, yet you can pay dearly to own (as the ELON buyers did back in March.)

I'm with you though, I think we need to start looking in some new areas to find new fertile soil to plow. I don't think this market is going to follow a "script" and go to plan, so it's time to think outside the box.

BTW, I still think that wireless communications and optical networking have a huge way too go before the industry becomes "mature".
