TCD,

Compiler technology for new architectures does of course take time, but like I said - software gets released (warts and all). As for UNIX/Linux, Solaris, HPUX, Linux, and some others are all in the works and have been demo'd countless times already.

Isn't the challenge to write a good compiler for IA-64 the same for Unix as for Windows?
