Read a message from the offending person and then press the "ignore this person" button towards the bottom of the screen. You can then select buttons to ignore messages to, ignore messages from, or both.

Just click on A@P's name and click on "Ignore this person"

It made this thread much more tolerable for me, although I still have to see the replies to his posts.
