stcgg in reality I sure hope so and you will profit.
I have been the ultimate pessimist. Used my cash to pay off all of my debt, including the mortgage. Play some index options both ways, that is about it.
I feel though that our debate is the ultimate question for the market. What allowed for the internet/tech stock mania, where valuations were extended to discount 5-8 year growth projections has a lot to do with expected Baby Boom retirement inflows. Only time will answer if we compressed ten years of gains (1995-2005) into only five, and now we have to retrace back to near term expectations. The last time the Fed aggressively raised rates was 1994 and GE was selling at 14X expected earnings. Somehow this cycle feels a lot different.
